According to the Wall Street Journal, Anham, Northern Virginia-Based Logistics Contractor, Accused of Violating Sanctions against Iran, Holds a Multi-Billion Dollar Food Supply Contract for US Soldiers. Money & Influence in Washington DC. The owners of the company appeared to be dual-citizens with enough money and influence to impact the highest echelons of American politics. In fact, they were able to become best buddies with politicians with close ties to both democratic and republican circles. Located in Northern virginia, the company with close ties to Terry McAuliffe, the Virginia democratic gubernatorial candidate, that holds the multibillion-dollar Pentagon contract to supply U.S. forces in Afghanistan with food and water brought in supplies to build an Afghan warehouse through Iran, in a possible violation of U.S. sanctions.





A. Huda Farouki
According to his own web site, www.anham.com, Mr. Farouki is the founder, chairman and/or chief executive officer of several major successful corporations specializing in international finance, trade, contracting, logistics and procurement in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Southeast Asia and the Far East. Some of these corporations include Hii Finance Corp., Financial Instrumental & Investment Corporation (FIIC), ANHAM FZCO, VTEL Holdings Ltd. and Nour USA, Ltd. He has been involved in business in the United States for more than 35 years. Mr. Farouki is well-known for his active participation in a variety of charitable endeavors and institutions, including the Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, the Clinton Global Initiative, the Aspen Institute, the Kennedy Center International Committee on the Arts, the Center for Strategic & International Studies and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Mr. Farouki was educated in England and the United States. He is a graduate of George Washington University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (1966) and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Administration (1973).





Mr. Farouki has managed, developed and structured major private and public construction, trade, finance and shipping ventures. Mr. Farouki is the Chairmanand Chief Executive Officer of ANHAM FCZO, L.L.C. as well as the management services company for ANHAM, Nour USA, Limited. Based in Washington, DC,
 





Mrs. Farouki is the founder and President of HII-Finance Corporation (“HFC”), an investment company located in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Since its establishment, she has been responsible for originating and overseeing HFC’s diverse investment portfolio and leading numerous U.S. corporations in their growth across national and international markets, with a particular interest in women-owned businesses.  Farouki is a co-founder of the Arab American Cultural Association. This organization came under scrutiny in 1989 when it offered to buy the rights and claimed sponsorship of the highly biased film, Young Palestinians: Days of Rage, a documentary of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Mrs. Farouki is currently a member of the board of trustees for Vital Voices, Teach for America (Washington, DC Chapter) the King Hussein Foundation, the King Hussein Cancer Center, the World Conference on Religions for Peace, and serves on the Board of Governors of the Arab American Institute. She currently co-chairs with her husband the International Committee for the Arts of the Kennedy Center and the Middle East Programs at the Aspen Institute. Mrs. Farouki received her Bachelor of Science degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon in 1970 and her Master’s of Science in Education from the George Washington University in 1978. She has resided in McLean, Virginia for the past 38 years with her husband, A. Huda Farouki, a prominent international entrepreneur and patron of the arts. She has three children. Ms. Farouki’s husband, Huda, is a Chairman for the US Palestinian Partnership. The Partnership recently received a multi-million dollar contribution from George Soros, a known opponent of Israel.
